Warehouse Block Advisory Board meets Aug. 4

Walker Properties, which owns and manages the Warehouse Block commercial development along National Avenue, wants to have a healthy and cooperative relationship with its neighbors.

Owner Chad Walker last year created a Warehouse Block Advisory Board, which includes several Mentelle neighborhood residents, to improve communications and discuss issues of mutual concern. The group’s next meeting is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Mirror Twin Brewing. Any Mentelle neighborhood resident is welcome to attend the board’s meetings.

Also, if anyone has any questions, suggestions or complaints regarding the Warehouse Block, you can reach out to Chad at walkerprop@aol.com

City seeks input on trails plan

From Hannah Crepps of the Lexington Metropolitan Planning Organization:

On behalf of the Lexington Area MPO, I wanted to extend the invitation once more to participate in the Connect East Lexington Trail Study. You can read more about this planning effort at: www.connecteastlex.com. Please check out this 2-minute survey where you can provide your input on how best to connect Brighton Trail in Hamburg to the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden Trailhead downtown, where the Town Branch and Legacy Trails meet.
Right now, we’re looking for your thoughts on trail design and to help determine how the trail will connect to destinations along the route.

As a leader in your neighborhood, we appreciate your time and attention to this and encourage you to share with others in your community. If you have any questions or comments to share, feel free to add them in the survey or reach out to me directly.

Gratefully,

Hannah Crepps, AICP

Thanks for a great median cleanup!

From Mentelle Median Committee Chair Jill DeBolt:

The Mentelle median had a very successful work day this morning!  Thanks to a great team, almost all the beds are weeded and mulched, and progress has been made on cleaning out the natural garden.  A big thank you to the following neighbors for donating more than 30 hours of sweat equity:  Ray and Jill DeBolt, Tom Eblen, Krista Giancarlo, Janet Howard, Tom Lillich, Vikki Mitchell, Barb Wagner, Shirley Warren.  Also, thanks to Gil Dunn for the use of his trailer to haul mulch.

Reminder: Median cleanup today

Join your neighbors at 10 a.m. today for a couple of hours of Mentelle Median cleanup and garden work to get our official city park ready for spring. We want to get the flower beds in shape before the weeds start growing too much. We hope to see you there!
